 Virginia Valentine, CEO and Co-owner of Diabetes Network, Inc.,received her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing. She holds faculty appointments with both the University of New Mexico College of Nursing and School of Medicine. She is a member of the Advanced Practice Advisory Board to the New Mexico Board of Nursing.
Virginia served as a member of the American Diabetes Association National Board of Directors, and chairs the New Mexico Leadership Council. She has served on the American Association of Diabetes Educators Foundation Board of Directors and the AADE Foundation Board. She chairs the Advanced Practice Specialty Practice Group for AADE. She currently serves as Chair of the Content Expert Panel for the AADE/ANCC Advanced Diabetes Management Credential. She was awarded the Roche/Zitter Diabetes Disease Management Leadership Award in 1999. She is the 2006 recipient of the AADE Distinguished Service Award. Virginia is the author of numerous professional and patient articles and “Diabetes, Type 2 and What to Do”.
